Simulation – Simulator Compatibility with Relevant Standards

Each automotive company or research institute is using one or more simulator vendors, which have their own method and format to create scenarios, and their own method to integrate software under test. This creates a concern on reusage of scenarios for AD testing, and it increases cost during the software integration phase.

Standardization activities took place in the last years to create a commom format for creating scenarios (ASAM OpenScenario 1.2.0, 2021; ASAM OpenDrive 1.7.0, 2021; ASAM OpenCRG 1.2.0, 2020), and for integrating software under test (ASAM  OSI, 2023). It is essential for cost reduction and for accelerating the devopment that simulator vendors are offering ASAM standard compatibility.

Main Question

Is the simulator compatible with the relevant standards?

Sub-Questions:

  1. Is it the simulator exposing interface in OSI standard (ASAM  OSI, 2023)?
  2. Is the simulatior compatible with scenarios defined by ASAM OpenScenario 1.2.0 (2021), ASAM OpenDrive 1.7.0 (2021) and ASAM OpenCRG 1.2.0 (2020)?
