In mixed traffic, there’s a considerable variety of objects that require detection. The ADF may come across numerous object types, as indicated by the sub-questions. Following the detection of an object, it’s essential to classify it accurately. Misclassification could potentially result in an inappropriate reaction from the ADF. It’s also beneficial to consider data from other sources, such as connected vehicles or infrastructure, which could enhance OEDR.
Main Question
Are the ADF capabilities identified and verified in terms of OEDR (Object and Event Detection and Response)?
Sub-Questions
- Does the response of the ADF take into account road obstructions, lane allocation & re-routing, road etiquette for emergency vehicles and interpreting gestures of other road users?
- Is the negotiation of difficult objects such as aggressive drivers, jaywalkers, bicyclists, delivery trucks, construction, unprotected left turns, 4-way stop signs and other factors that arise when driving in the city considered?
- Does external information from other vehicles, infrastructure and / or back-end support the pre-emption of OEDR?
