Ensuring safety is pivotal to a remote operation system. In order to do so, a “system of systems” approach is advisable. This approach conceptualizes not only remote operation as an overarching system but considers each component of the remote operation system as a system in itself.
Relevant factors have to account, such as described in the sub-questions and with reference to HVI_42, about the cognitive state of the remote operator (i.e., operator state monitoring).
