This question and related sub-questions address the secondary tasks allowed during AD (at least from L3 functions). It is important to consider what is currently available and what will become available in the future: these aspects shall be taken into account from the beginning of the function development (i.e., definition phase). Moreover, the possibility to add new apps / secondary tasks to the vehicle in the future, should be considered as well (Botta et al., 2019).
Main Question
Are most of the relevant secondary tasks considered?
Sub-Questions
- Is the user workload when interpreting the HMI messages assessed?
- Is the user distraction due to HMI messages during use of the ADF assessed?
- Is the driver able to keep one hand on the steering wheel while interacting with the ADF?
